Finca Sophia is a high-mountain coffee farm in Nueva Suiza, Volcán, Panama, founded in 2008 by Willem Boot, Helen Russell, and David Pohl. At 2,175 masl, it cultivates coffee in harmony with local wildlife, with manager Kelly Hartmann guiding five hectares that border Parque Internacional La Amistad and support rich biodiversity. This thoughtful approach has produced internationally acclaimed coffees, with Finca Sophia’s Geisha consistently shining at Best of Panama—most recently earning 2nd in Geisha Washed and 3rd in Geisha Natural in 2025.
